I. Overview

Last year, more than 18,000 children under the age of 14 died in road traffic accidents. In recent years, the school bus traffic safety accident has become the most important "killer" among primary and secondary school students in accidents and casualties. The main reasons are four major hidden dangers: the quality of the school bus is not up to standard, the driver's safety awareness is weak, and the overload phenomenon is serious. Among them, a large part of the factors are related to regulatory issues, and the lack of effective supervision and monitoring by relevant departments such as the driving status of drivers, car following teachers, and students in the car.

It is not enough to rely on police surprise inspections. As a long-term supervision problem, school bus transportation urgently needs effective monitoring of its safe operation with the help of technical facilities, and can be used as a basis for judgment in the event of an accident. China's first national school bus safety national standard "Special Elementary School Bus Safety Technical Conditions" will be officially implemented on July 1, 2010. The special elementary school bus must be equipped with a GPS, which is commonly known as "black box". However, a major drawback of GPS monitoring of school buses is that they cannot monitor the situation in the bus in real time and solve the problem at any time.

Second, the system architecture

The system is based on 3G wireless high-speed transmission technology (Digital Video Record) and combines GPS positioning monitoring, car driving records, driver identification, abnormal alarm and other functions , All-weather real-time monitoring of high-definition video, effectively solving the lagging defects of school bus monitoring, and it uses digital video compression storage, RFID card and other modern technologies, more humanized and intelligent.

As shown in the figure, the system is composed of a server system, a fixed external network server, 3G wireless communication / Internet, a global satellite positioning system (GPS), an on-board terminal device, and a monitoring center background. The school bus transportation vehicle supervision platform is monitored 24 hours a day.

The server system is mainly used for data storage, conversion, recall and transmission, because the vehicle-mounted terminal device itself does not have the function of storing a large amount of data, and can only be saved by the server.

The fixed IP external network server has a fixed IP address, so that after the GPS terminal goes online, the server that actively searches for this address performs two-way data communication, so that the GPS device terminal can communicate with the server in real time.
