Domestic 5G announced phased results, key technologies have been verified

Recently, at the first 5G Innovation and Development Forum held in Beijing, China's IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group announced that domestic 5G technology has now completed the first phase of experimental work, and all key technologies have been successfully verified. . It also issued certificates to seven domestic and foreign institutions including Huawei, ZTE, Datang Telecom, Ericsson, Nokia Shanghai Bell (which has been merged), Intel, Samsung and others participating in this phase of the experiment.

The key technologies that have been successfully verified in the first phase include seven key wireless technologies such as large-scale antennas, new multiple access, new multi-carrier, and high-frequency communications, as well as four key network technologies such as network slicing and mobile edge calculation.

Wenku, director of the Department of Information and Communication Development of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the first phase of the experiment fully verified the above-mentioned key technologies supporting Gbps user experience rate, millisecond end-to-end delay, and millions of connections per square kilometer. The technical feasibility of the scene requirements further strengthened the industry's confidence in promoting the 5G technology innovation and development.

The China IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Team was jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Science and Technology in February 2013. At present there are at least 56 member companies, including ZTE, Huawei, China Mobile, China Unicom, and Datang Telecom.

China's 5G technology research and development trials were fully launched in January 2016. They were divided into three stages: key technology verification, technical program verification, and system verification. The first phase of trials has now been completed.

It is reported that the second phase of the trial will focus on the development and trials of wireless air interface and network technology solutions for the three major 5G scenarios of mobile Internet, low latency, high reliability, and low power consumption and large connectivity, and plans to complete it by the end of 2017.
