San Francisco startup Eero leads the new trend in Mesh routers. However, the router is only the first step in the company's development. In the end, Eero wants to be the core of smart home. Recently, Eero released a second-generation router that demonstrates its ambition to enter the smart home.
“You can look at the trend of smart homes. Every home needs great networking capabilities, and each family ultimately needs an operating system to drive all the experience,†said Nick Weaver, co-founder and CEO of Eero. The Fastcompany website says, "Our idea is that these two things should be combined into one."

Eero's new router system consists of two pieces of equipment: one is the new Eero router. The shape of the router has not changed, but the performance is twice that of the previous generation; the second is the Eero Beacon module. Previously, to build a mash network, users had to purchase multiple Eero devices, and now only need to add multiple Eero Beacons. The Eero Beacon can be plugged directly into a power outlet and used as a night light. (Eero Beacon is half the size of the first generation Eero, but with better performance).
In addition, Eero also launched the Eero Plus service for a monthly fee of $10 or an annual fee of $100. Eero Plus is like a firewall that helps users fight malware, botnets or phishing. Whether it's a computer, a mobile phone, a smart TV, a smart door lock, any device connected to an Eero router can use this service. Eero Plus also provides content filtering to help families with children filter illegal, violent, pornographic content.

Weaver said that these two services are just the starting point for Eero Plus. In the future, the company will add more services in time. “You can think of it as an Amazon Prime service,†he said. “We will continue to improve, improve and extend this service.â€
It is worth noting that Eero chose Thread when choosing the smart home protocol. Compared to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc., Thread has not been widely supported by device manufacturers. In this regard, Weaver said that Thread is currently the best choice because it is low-power, default encryption, and has strong scalability. “It is definitely the future of low-energy networking in the home,†he said.
Tom Kerber, an analyst at Park Associates, believes that supporting the Thread protocol heralds the future of Eero. Because an important feature of the Thread protocol is decentralization. Under the Thread protocol, any device can make decisions and accept calculation requests from other devices. The flow of information does not depend on the central cluster. “Communicating with equipment manufacturers, you will learn about their long-term perspective on smart homes, including how it works, communication between devices, etc. Thread tries to keep up with these views.â€
I Get Disposable ecig have a completely enclosed design, reducing the need for charging and replacing cartridges. The no-charge design also reduces the occurrence of faults. It is understood that with rechargeable e-cigarettes, each cartridge needs to be charged at least once and the battery efficiency is extremely low, while the design of disposable ecig can solve this problem very well.
