LED lighting lacks standard Taiwan industry calls for postponing home LED light subsidies

The lighting industry is worried that the National Standard for LED Lighting (CNS) has not been released. The Ministry of Economic Affairs intends to subsidize 200 yuan for household LED bulbs. It is feared that bad money will drive out good money, and the producers of inferior and low-priced products will become the biggest winners. Zhang Kongcheng, chairman of the Taiwanese District Lighting and Lighting Industry Association, yesterday, when he led the team to meet the Standards Bureau, urged the Bureau of Standards to speed up the development of national standards for LED lighting.

According to the lighting industry, who did not want to be named, the Bureau of Economics Standards Bureau drafted the LED lighting standard for Taiwan for many years, but it has not been formally implemented yet. The lighting industry has not given the opportunity to test and test. To this end, Zhang Kongcheng called on the Director of the Bureau of Standards, Chen Jieshan, on October 8th, hoping that the Bureau of Standards would speed up the development of national standards for LED lighting. However, the industry did not expect the Ministry of Economic Affairs to suddenly announce a subsidy policy for household LED bulbs within one month. The industry bluntly said that even the standards are not. How to subsidize?

The industry pointed out that in order to encourage people to save energy and reduce carbon, the Ministry of Economic Affairs intends to follow the subsidy policy for energy-saving home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, televisions and air-conditioning). It plans to allocate NT$1 billion in funds for the domestic LED bulbs. One hundred yuan, based on households, each household subsidizes 5 to 10 LED bulbs, which is expected to be implemented before the end of this year.

LED lighting has not had CNS standards so far, and this year's two-wave energy-saving appliances subsidies are based on energy-saving stamps as a subsidy basis. At present, there are at least 4 or 50 LED bulb manufacturers in China, but the production quality is not good. The industry is worried that if there is no CNS standard as the subsidy basis for LED lighting, there may be special manufacturers of low-cost LED bulbs in the future, and the service life is not up to the test standard. With the advantage of price, it swept the majority of the market, and bad money drove out good money.

Therefore, the Taiwanese industry strongly urges the Ministry of Economic Affairs to first introduce the national standard for LED lighting, and then subsidize household LED bulbs.
