Nuremberg, Germany (2018 Embedded Systems Show) – February 27, 2018 – NXP Semiconductors NV, the leading provider of secure Internet of Things (IoT) embedded solutions for a wide range of market applications Code: NXPI) today introduced the new A71CH Secure Element (SE) Trust Anchor, an instant-on security solution for next-generation IoT devices such as edge nodes and gateways. Designed to protect point-to-point or cloud connections, the chip pre-configures the required confidential information for autonomous cloud access and peer-to-peer authentication. The solution provides a root of trust (RoT) from the chip level with security features such as encryption key storage, key generation and derivation to protect private data and two-way authentication.

The chip's unique feature is its “plug-and-write†approach, which enables easy integration of security and cloud access, such as through master chipset functions and compatibility with a variety of NXP microcontroller (MCU and MPU) platforms ( Development kits such as KineTIs and i.MX). In addition, sample code and various application notes are provided to simplify the design process.
In addition to NXP's trusted configuration services, customers can also access any number of easily personalized services through the A71CH by partnering with Data I/O, the world's leading provider of security configuration and device programming systems.
