China Lighting Network: Today's eye protection lamps market can be said to be varied and mixed, many users and experts have always retained the effect of eye protection. Do you think eye protection lamps have eye protection effect?
Professor Lin: Choosing the right reading table lamp can alleviate visual fatigue. Many so-called eye-protection lamps on the market are actually a kind of reading and writing table lamp (reading table lamp), just to advertise the eye-protection function, so it is named to attract customer.
As we all know, long-term reading and writing operations (such as students doing homework) are prone to visual fatigue, which can cause eye symptoms such as blurred vision, eye swelling, dryness, tearing, sore eyes, and even develop into headache, dizziness, nausea, irritability, and fatigue. Waiting for the whole body to not adapt. Especially for adolescents, during visual development, long-term visual fatigue is easy to cause myopia. The lighting environment is one of the important factors affecting visual fatigue. If the light is insufficient or too strong, the light source is unevenly distributed or flickering, under the same work, the eyes are more likely to overload and cause visual fatigue. Therefore, if the reading desk lamp can provide a good lighting environment, it can alleviate visual fatigue.
Good lighting environment has multiple indicators. To read the desk lamp, you should also consider various lighting parameters, such as task surface illumination, illumination uniformity, light source color temperature, color rendering, and flicker (including stroboscopic and power supply voltage fluctuations). Flashing), glare and so on. How to optimize these parameters and achieve a good and comfortable reading lighting environment is one of the topics that our lighting vision group of Fudan University Electric Light Source Research Institute has focused on in recent years.
In recent years, due to the concern about the stroboscopic problem of fluorescent lamps, most of the "eye protection" lamps on the market are considered from this angle, but the evaluation of "eye protection lamps" cannot be partial, because it is really necessary to protect The role of the eye, the light to solve the strobo problem is not enough.
China Lighting Network: Can consumers choose brand-oriented eye-lights, such as the eye protection of some big brands?
Professor Lin: Consumers can use the brand as a reference when choosing eye protection, but they should not be blindly trusted. Because regardless of the brand or not, the definition of "eye protection lamp" is currently not subject to relevant standards in China. Although China issued the "Performance Requirements for Reading and Writing Table Lamps" in January 2008, it is used to replace the "General Technical Requirements for Civilian Lamps" promulgated by the State in 1988. However, the standard still does not refer to the definition of "eye protection lamp". Therefore, a considerable part of the so-called "eye protection lamp" on the market is a waste of words.
Review gyro test
China Lighting Network: Is the so-called gyro test method credible? Where is its scientific performance? Can the current technology of electric light source minimize the electromagnetic radiation generated by high frequency oscillation?
Professor Lin: The gyro test method proves that the eye protection function of the desk lamp is not scientific. The gyro test method is a simple method to illustrate the stroboscopic effect. This test gyro rotates under different frequencies of light, and the visual effect is different. This is because the frequency of the fast-rotating object is the change frequency of the light and dark. When the integer is multiplied, the actually rotated object is observed to be stationary; when the frequency of the rotation is not an integral multiple of the frequency of the light and dark changes, it is observed that the direction of rotation is not clockwise or counterclockwise. The design of the pattern or texture on the top of the gyro has different frequency of change, so some gyros can distinguish the light with periodic changes and no periodic changes. However, it does not always detect the presence of stroboscopic light, nor the severity of stroboscopic light, so it cannot be used as a basis for judging eye protection.
Nowadays, the use of high-frequency electronic ballasts increases the frequency variation of the output light, and when the frequency exceeds the discriminating ability of the human eye, the human eye will not be aware of it. However, if the design is not proper, the electromagnetic radiation generated by the high-frequency oscillation will have an adverse effect on the human body. Products that have been tested by national authorities and comply with relevant national safety standards should be used, which is achievable in the current technology.
