South Korea's Seoul Semiconductor and Taiwan's Everlight Electronics and Gertrude Neumark Rothschild reached a settlement for a lawsuit against Rothschild's short-wavelength LED and laser diode patents. Dreier LLP, the US attorney of Rothschild's attorney, issued the above statement in this lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed by Rothschild in February 2008 with the International Trade Commission (ITC). Rothschild believes that some of the short-wavelength LEDs, laser diodes, and products containing these two components imported by the United States infringe their patents and require ITC to issue import bans on such products. To this end, ITC has announced an investigation into companies that operate such products. Seoul Semiconductor and Everlight Electronics are the targets of the survey.
Rothschild's agent said, "This agreement with Seoul Semiconductor and Everlight Electronics is an important step in this lawsuit. Because more companies have noticed the blue, green, purple, and ultraviolet rays necessary for many home appliances. In the manufacture of LEDs and laser diodes, Rothschild's invention has great prospects."
