When I tested the S7 edge, I couldn't help but bought Gear VR to experience it. When I enjoyed it, I wanted to take it apart and share it with you. This article is only dismantling. I will send a separate test for the specific experience.
Dismantling starts with installing this side of the phone.
The four corners of the protective pad and the middle of the stickers are hidden places.
Carefully lift the protective pad with a knife and remove the sticker to reveal the six screws.
All screws in the GearVR are small crosses, and a small screwdriver can be used for disassembly.
After removing the screws, you can separate the front "phone stand" from the body, but be careful, there is a cable link on the side of the touch pad.

Remove the four screws on the back of the “Mobile Phone Stand†to remove the GearVR connected phone's USB port and volume button module.
Hanging on the left is the USB interface and volume button module.
This module is connected to the main board via a cable, and there is a protective cover outside the main board, so first remove the cover. Remove the three screws marked by the arrow. 
Remove the cover to see the inside of the motherboard, connected to four cables, USB interface / volume button module on the top, directly unplugged.
This is the demolition of the module, here is a purely mechanical structure, and there are springs, open to see nothing difficult to install, so do not continue to tear down.
Unscrew the remaining three cables and carefully remove the motherboard.
Remove the motherboard to continue the dismantling, but first look at what is on the motherboard.
The front and back of the main board are empty, and the difference I expected is great.

After you remove the motherboard and unscrew a circle of screws, you can also remove the other layer of the "Mobile Phone Stand."
The four gears shown by the arrow are the four legs of the “phone stand†bracket. Adjusting the diopter is actually rotating them to control the distance between the phone and the lens.

There are two gears on the pedestal, and the "mobile phone support" is attached to the gears.
Remove a gear for demonstration: When you rotate the diopter adjustment knob on the right side of the figure, it will drive the rotating shaft connected to it, and the rotating shaft will drive the position of the “Phone Holder†gear to adjust the phone support.
Remove the "phone support" and the motherboard behind the Gear VR only the shell and cable.
The upper left line is connected to the return button, the lower left line is the touch pad, and the right line is connected to the body sensor in the middle of the GearVR. This ensures that the GearVR will automatically power off the screen when it is not worn.
The touch screen chip is directly placed on the cable.
This is the body sensor located in the middle, and the cable is buried under the black insulating layer on the edge.

From the inside it can be seen that the black strip does not come in contact with the shell but leaves a seam.
This black plastic plate can be taken directly without dustproof measures, and the openings are all at the bottom of the VR, and the heat will always rise. Therefore, GearVR's anti-fog effect is not very good.
Even if it is finished here, the black frame on the side of the eyepiece that is used to stick magic is partially connected to the base by means of hot melt. The dismantling will inevitably be destructive, so it will not be removed again.
The last is simple and outrageous family portrait.
Although there is not much hope for GearVR, it is still a little disappointment after it is opened. However, Samsung's VR is still considered to be the strongest in mobile VR. Last night, Google released the Android N system, which is optimized for VR. How long does Samsung know that this exclusive advantage can last?
