Huawei plans to sell 60 million mobile phones this year

On the morning of June 1, Beijing time, Huawei hopes to double its annual sales of mobile phones to 60 million units this year. The company began to sell its own branded mobile phones in the UK and China.

DigiTimes quoted Huawei's Taiwanese agents as saying that the sales target of 60 million mobile phones also includes 12 million smart phones, which is four times the sales volume in 2010.

Huawei will launch 8-10 new smartphones in 2011, of which 80% will be entry-level smartphones, aiming to become the top five mobile phone manufacturers in the world by 2013.

Huawei's own brand marketing will be launched in the UK and China later this year, and will be extended through marketing activities in 2012 to the United States, Japan, India and Indonesia.
