Ministry of Industry and Information Technology initially confirmed 5G core network architecture confirmation for 5G deployment band

According to the People's Post and Telecommunications News, on June 5, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly solicited opinions on the use of the 3300MHz~3600MHz and 4800MHz~5000MHz frequency bands for the fifth-generation International Mobile Telecommunications System (IMT-2020).

The Exposure Draft clearly states that the 3300MHz~3600MHz and 4800MHz~5000MHz frequency bands are the IMT-2020 operating frequency bands. Among them, the IMT-2020 in the 3300MHz~3400MHz frequency band is limited to indoor use in principle, and can be used outdoors without causing interference to the radio positioning service stations in use. The IMT-2020 system station in the 3400MHz~3600MHz band shall not cause radio interference to the fixed-satellite service earth station within the validity period of the band. For this frequency band and adjacent-frequency earth stations whose frequency license expires but is used for satellite telemetry, certain protection shall be given. The specific measures shall be settled by the IMT-2020 system operator in consultation with the relevant satellite operators. The IMT-2020 system station in the 4990MHz~5000MHz band shall not interfere with the radio astronomy station listed in footnote CHN12 of the Radio Frequency Division Regulations of the People's Republic of China.

The above frequency bands are used as the working frequency band of IMT-2020 and are allocated and managed by the national radio regulatory agencies. The frequency allocation plan, equipment RF technical indicators and station management specific regulations shall be separately formulated and released.

In addition, 3GPP, the International Mobile Telecommunications Standards Organization, officially confirmed at the recent professional conference that the 5G core network will adopt the SBA architecture (Service-Based architecture) proposed by 26 companies in China Mobile as a unified Infrastructure.

This means that 5G networks are truly open, service-oriented and software-oriented, which is conducive to the integration of 5G and vertical industries. China also has more initiative and voice in the 5G era. At the 3GPP SA2#118 meeting in December 2012, 3GPP officially launched the 5G system design. After a heated discussion, China Mobile led the 5G system architecture standard project, and Dr. Sun Wei from the Mobile Research Institute served as the sole reporter of the project.

China Mobile subsequently joined 12 network operators, Huawei and other 12 network equipment vendors, and jointly proposed the SBA architecture.

According to Sun Wei, the design of the 5G overall system includes top-level design, wireless network design, core network design, etc. The system architecture standard project is mainly for top-level design and core network design, for 5G system architecture, functions, interface relationships, processes, and roaming. Standardize with existing network coexistence relationships.

SBA has become a 5G infrastructure, which also proves that China's communication technology strength has gained international recognition and is making greater and greater contributions in the core area of ​​standards development.
