Virtual reality creation, distribution and analysis company InstaVR announced today that they have become VR content production partners for Sanrio Entertainment in Japan.
Sanrio Rainbow Park, a subsidiary of Sanrio Entertainment, is currently expanding its marketing efforts in hopes of attracting more overseas visitors. They use VR applications as a more attractive way to increase the global exposure of the Hello Kitty theme park. The VR application was first released at SANRIO EXPO on February 6th, 2017. The company plans to begin full operation of more VR experiences this spring.
Specifically designed for Gear VR, a group of Sanrio animation characters, including Hello Kitty, will guide the audience to visit Rainbow Paradise, or enjoy the popular animation cartoon parade. Gaze-based navigation allows users to navigate the park 360 degrees, and this convenient navigation is very suitable for multi-lingual users of Sanrio.
Sanrio said: "Since the high productivity of InstaVR, it usually takes 2-3 weeks to complete the model production within only one week. This allows us to spend more time to fill details and improve quality. As for the final cost and delivery In time, production took only half of our initial budget and delivered within three weeks.â€
Sanrio plans to use InstaVR's gaze hotspot map feature, which will allow them to monitor the area the user is watching. The company can then analyze VR visitor behavior data and use this data to guide VR content development, such as adding interactivity to applications through hotspots and navigation.
