Sharp 10th generation line into China is not approved by the Beijing-Eastern 8.5 generation line

According to sources, Sharp and Nanjing CLP Panda plans to invest 36 billion in the 10 generation panel line project has not been approved by the relevant departments, but the National Development and Reform Commission approved BOE to launch a 8.5 generation line in Hefei.

The industry believes that although the 10th generation line technology is the leader in the high-generation panel line, it seems that the only 10th generation line in this industry is not successful. The most fundamental reason is that the yield is not high, only 60%.

In addition, according to insiders of Sharp, it is very likely that the 10th generation line will not be the Japanese government. According to public information, the highest-generation LCD panel production line that has been put into production internationally is the 10th generation line project of Osaka, which was put into operation in October 2009. Its technical level is not comparable to that of the 6th generation line or the 8th generation line.

Compared with Sharp's 10th generation line into China, the BOE is relatively lucky. According to sources, the National Development and Reform Commission has recently approved BOE to build another 8.5-generation panel line in Hefei. BOE said that this line can be approved mainly because of the promotion of the Hefei municipal government.

According to insiders of BOE, Hefei 8.5 generation line will not be fully invested in TFT-LCD (thin film transistor liquid crystal display) panel, and it is likely to invest some resources in AM-OLED (active matrix organic light-emitting diode panel) business. .
